Claire Thomas, som driver Volontärbyråns projekt The English Volunteering Project, träffade prins Charles förra veckan under hans och Camillas besök i Sverige torsdagen den 23 mars.
– I met Prince Charles last week and talked to him briefly about The English Volunteering Project. And what did he say? – That it’s ”obviously a brilliant idea”. Can’t get much better endorsement than that, säger Claire Thomas.
Prins Charles och Camilla, hertiginnan av Cornwall var på officiellt besök i Sverige för första gången. Besöket är en del av Drottning Elizabeth jubileumsfirande som nu har suttit 60 år på tronen.
About the English Voluntering Project
We believe that volunteering is a great way to meet people, gain work experience, learn about Sweden, learn Swedish, get out of the house, feel useful and have fun. This is particularly true for people who are new to Sweden or haven’t lived here long.
However, it can be difficult finding volunteering opportunities when you’re in a new country, don’t know the names of any non-profit organisations or when everything is in Swedish (and your Swedish leaves something to be desired).
This is why we are setting up the English Volunteering Project.
